Grants totaling up to $20,000 to USA and Canada animal rescue and shelter organizations for educational programs, capital projects, and operational support. The grant program supports animals that benefit from the Funding Source's product line, including the following species: rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, ferrets, degus, sugar gliders, rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, reptiles, tortoises, companion livestock (including alpacas, llamas, goats, donkeys,
miniature horses, and others), and wildlife.

Grants are awarded based upon an organization’s effective use of resources in providing quality animal care, home placement, education, and community outreach.

Grant categories:
- Education and Outreach Support: Educational and outreach programs, training materials, leaflets, and videos.
- Capital Improvement Support: Renovations, additions, new structures, and equipment purchases.
- Operating Support: Normal operating expenses such as feed, utilities, and veterinary care.

On average grants will be awarded to 6-10 organizations.

Eligible applicants:
- Rescue organizations
- Foster networks
- Humane societies
- Wildlife rehabilitation organizations
- Animal sanctuaries
- Other specialty organizations
- Organizations in the US and Canada

Animals that qualify:
- Small Animals which utilize Oxbow’s product line (Please note that the Foundation is unable to provide funding for dog-specific or cat-specific rescues or projects)
- Companion Livestock such as alpacas, llamas, goats, donkeys, miniature horses, and others. (Please note that the Foundation is unable to provide funding for equine-specific rescues or projects)
- Wildlife

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be postmarked between June 1 and August 31, 2019.

Organizations are eligible to receive funding two out of every three years.
