Grants of up to $10,000 to USA libraries and health organizations in multiple states for health information initiatives in local communities. Funding is intended for projects addressing citizen science, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, and more. Eligible states include Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
The purpose of this award is to support network member organizations to engage in one or more of the following initiatives: citizen science, embedding health information in library and information sciences (LIS) programs, substance misuse/opioids, and HIV/AIDS.
- Community partnerships to address substance misuse/opioids;
- Provide a workshop on citizen science for public libraries;
- Train health care professionals on the availability of NLM and NIH resources for HIV/AIDS;
- Partner with LIS programs to engage students in consumer health information access.
