Grants of up to $20,000 to South Dakota local government agencies and tribes for programs that help prevent viral infections. The goal of the program is to help local entities in their efforts to control mosquitos and prevent West Nile Virus. Funding is intended for the purchase of mosquito control equipment and supplies and for wages.
Grant awards are based on the population of the applying jurisdiction and its number of human cases through the year 2022.
South Dakota cities, counties, and tribes are eligible to apply.
Pre-Application Information
Applications are due by June 1st and funding awards will be available starting July 1st.
Awards will be made on a reimbursement basis only for mosquito control expenditures between April 1, 2023, and October 31, 2023.
All requests for reimbursement must be completed by November 30, 2023.
